It may seem like a forward question posed by someone you've never met ... but it is often the first question I ask when I walk into a new space for the first time.  That single, open-ended question covers a lot of ground and the answers give me clues as I begin my work, intuitively, the moment I step into the space.

The first thing I want to mention is, whether you know it or not, the conditions in your home and/or the place you spend the most time, subtly relate to other things that are going on in your life.  It's not a judgement, nor is it good or bad, it just is.

I was forced to clear our clutter (in the best possible way!) when I moved my son and I from the coast of Maine to the Midwest so we could be closer to my daughters and their babies.  To be a family again has been my biggest wish.  After the initial joy of hearing, 'What do you think about moving to Indiana?' I had a lot of moments of dread!  The job was so big!  Months before that call, I thought our home was fairly clear of clutter.  Because I hired a moving company, I had to adhere to a very strict budget weightwise.  Now all I saw as I looked around was dollar signs.  But the end goal was worth all of the work (both physical and emotional) that had to be done all on my own.  From that experience, I learned how much easier it would have been if I had someone working with me who was not emotionally tied to the clutter of memories I needed to clear.

While my work with you is to help you physically clear clutter, the deeper part of my job is to help you through the emotion of clearing clutter.  I want to be there to support you!
